What is the job of the

Township Assessor's Office?

It is their job, as described by Illinois State Statues, to value all properties at Market Value or the Fair Cash Value.  This is done in a fair and equitable manner to ensure the tax burden is fairly distributed amongst property owners.  It is the goal of this office to produce accurate and equitable assessments throughout Freeport Township. 

It is our mission to serve our property owners by providing an open door policy should they have questions and concerns regarding their property assessment.

          November 7, 2012

The Last Day to File with Board of Review was: December 7 , 2012

2012 is the Quadrennial Year for Freeport Township; which means all properties will be publshed in the Freeport Journal Standard.

Only those properties that had changes initiated by this office will recieve an Assessment Change Notice via mail from the Stephenson County Assessment Office.
